joseph joins jury of INAUGURAL Prisma Queer Awards at São Paulo International Film Festival

The first edition of Prisma Queer will take place during the São Paulo International Film Festival in October 2025, establishing itself as a landmark in the recognition of plural and diverse narratives in audiovisual media.

Prisma Queer goes beyond formal recognition, structuring itself in three main moments:

Prisma Queer Award: Award ceremony at the official São Paulo Film Festival, recognizing the best national and international LGBTQIA+ fiction feature film, the best documentary, and presenting a trophy to the honoree of the year.

Prisma Queer Network: A closed networking event that promotes a safe space for exchange, support, and collaboration among queer audiovisual professionals.

The Jury

The inaugural jury of Prisma Queer brings together prominent names in contemporary queer culture, forming a diverse and representative panel of transformative artistic trajectories:

Pedro França – director, screenwriter, and actor, winner of Queer Lisboa and the Félix Prize;

Chica Andrade – director, screenwriter, and actress, part of the Sundance Trans Possibilities program;

Viviane Ferreira – director, screenwriter, and former president of Spcine;

Julieta Paredes – filmmaker, poet, and community feminist indigenous activist of the Aymara people;

Joseph a. Adesunloye – Nigerian-British producer/writer/director

Alice Chiappetta – producer and director, partner at the queer production company Bahaez;

Lucas Weglinski – award-winning filmmaker at Mix Brasil and honored at Queer Porto.

This jury reinforces Prisma Queer's commitment to highlighting plural perspectives, diverse experiences, and narratives that expand the horizon of contemporary audiovisual media.
