JOSEPH SELECTED, AS TV Collective unveils Breakthrough Leaders 2025
C4 digital exec, BBC assistant commissioner and Supacell producer among 50-strong cohort
Supacell producer Sheila Nortley, Channel 4 digital commissioning exec Kaio Grizzelle and BBC assistant commissioner Rhianna Adams-Christie are among the 50-strong cohort of this year’s TV Collective Breakthrough Leaders programme.
They are joined on the list by Mariayah Kaderbhai, head of programmes at Bafta, Jami Chan, manager of production management for original series at Netflix UK, Ryan Samuda, producer/director and editor Zeb Achonu, among others.
Breakthrough Leaders marks its fifth year of elevating senior level talent through providing enhanced skills, connections and opportunities. This year’s cohort will receive tailored masterclasses from top industry professionals, mentorship from senior execs at broadcasters and studios, a peer support network and group coaching from Remy Blumenfeld, coach and business strategist who co-designed the programme.
The initiative has been supported by Fremantle since its launch in 2020 and this year’s edition sees the super-indie joined by Paramount UK, ITV Studios, BBC, Channel 4 and Amazon Prime Video.
It was established in 2020 and identifies 50 individuals from Black, Asian and global majority backgrounds poised to become the future leaders of the UK TV industry. It has been partnered with Fremantle since its creation and this year’s edition sees Paramount UK, ITV Studios, BBC, Channel 4 and Amazon Prime Video board the programme.
In the five years since its launch, more than 200 professionals have completed the programme, with 95% reporting improved career prospects and 30% receiving promotions with six months.
